Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I use a forex lot size calculator for gold?
Forex calculators assume 100,000 units per lot and pip values per currency pair. XAUUSD is quoted in dollars per ounce with its own contract size (commonly 100 oz). The math is different — a forex calculator gives the wrong lot size for gold.
Is 1 lot of XAUUSD always 100 ounces?
No. 100 oz is the most common standard, but many brokers offer 10 oz (mini) and 1 oz (micro) contracts. Check your broker's contract specification.
